Arrive by Bus

Take any MeVa bus to Washington Square Transit Center in downtown Haverhill. From there, take Route 22 (Buttonwoods Express), which stops directly on Water Street near the museum, or Route 5 (Water Street), which runs east along Water Street and stops at 240 Water Street. Exit at the Water Street/Buttonwoods Avenue stop — the museum entrance is steps away.

Flag-stop system: MeVa buses currently operate as a flag-stop system on most routes — stand on the side of the road and wave to signal the driver as the bus approaches. Specifics about MeVa can be found on their website: mevatransit.com

Arrive by Train

Take the MBTA Haverhill/Reading Line to Haverhill Station. From the station, you can walk to the museum in about 20 minutes (approximately 1 mile): head east on Washington Avenue, turn right on Merrimack Street, and follow it east as it becomes Water Street. Buttonwoods will be on your left.

Alternatively, take MeVa Route 5 (Water Street) from Washington Square Transit Center, one block from the station, and ride east to the Water Street stop near the museum.
